The kids are down, your work is done - how do you spend your “me” time, when you get it?

I’m in a loungewear set, wine glass in hand, sitting next to my husband on the couch and going down my shopping black holes on my phone (always be hustlin’) while he watches TV.

What is the thing you bought in the last three months that you have most enjoyed?

The Kissu Lip Mask by Tatcha has become part of my nightly routine. I’m also somewhat addicted to Trader Joe’s Vanilla Merengues Cookies.

What is the quality you most like in yourself as a mother?

I try to make celebratory moments (holidays, birthdays, etc.) memorable – I enjoy planning and going all out on the details and hope it makes for happy childhood memories and fond feelings for home.

What is the quality you most like in one or all of your children that they did not inherit from you?

Although Whit is only two, he displays a great amount of empathy (if he hears another child cry, he will make sure I hear it and show me how sad he feels about it). While I’m thoughtful in other ways, I think he gets this special trait from my husband. What is the other career you’d most like to try out, given a second professional life?

I believe I was an Event Planner in a past life (this is actually verified if you consider my stint as social chair of my sorority a past life - which it is).

Is there anything that quarantine forced you to change that you would like to - or will - maintain post quarantine?

A larger-than-life appreciation for parties and social gatherings – I like to think I’ll be that grandmother at weddings that doesn’t leave the dance floor because she remembers the days when the music went out (temporarily) because of the pandemic (and I’ll be sure to remind all the youngsters who dance with me of this, too).

What are the nicest things your partner does for you, and you for them?

My husband is steadfast in his support for me and all my endeavors (crazy ideas) – I try to do the same for him, although his ideas are usually more pragmatic, less crazy.

What are the three beauty products you always have in your rotation? We always love to know someone's go-to lipstick color too...

La Mer The Concentrate, Biologique Recherche P50 & Vintner’s Daughter; go-to lip color is Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk.Where is the place where you feel like your best self - your happy place?

Anywhere I am with my sisters – they are my happy place.

How important is routine to you? What parts of your routine are sacrosanct?

Routine is what keeps the Steen house operational and as a Capricorn, any change or departure from routines usually ruffles my feathers. But the best parts of my day are those I spend with my son – the early mornings, bath and bed time are sacred.

What are your professional goals and how do you go about achieving them?

For all my ”professions”  my goals are to do the best I can do and to do work I’m - and those I work with are - proud of. I try to achieve this by giving it my all and operating as efficiently as I can in order to balance all the different projects I work on at any given time.

What are the things that make your home personal to you and your family?

I try to fill my home with art that has special meaning – whether because of a place or symbolic object it portrays, the feelings it evokes or the occasion for which it was acquired. My sister in law, Illa Gaunt (@_ig_art), is an art consultant and has been instrumental in introducing us to art that fits the bill.

What maternity style or clothing item could you not find last time around that you most wish FH would create?

A tennis skirt that doesn’t leave me resembling Miss Trunchbull. Shop Natalie's Look: Puff Sleeve Crewneck Sweater
