The kids are down, your work is done - how do you spend your “me” time, when you get it?
I love winding down by running a bath. We recently launched a bath salt blend that combines rose petal and hibiscus flowers with dead sea salt, epsom salt, pink Himalayan salt, red Hawaiian Alaea salt, soothing white clay and a proprietary organic essential oil blend featuring bergamot, jasmine, ylang ylang, fennel, basil and ginger. It smells divine and helps me release any stress while it softens and soothes my skin. While soaking I like to apply our PURIFY or SCRUB mask and read a book.
What is the thing you bought in the last three months that you have most enjoyed?
When I asked my husband this question, his first answer was cookies- hahaha. He’s probably not wrong. I have a new found sweet tooth with this pregnancy.
What is the quality you’re most hopeful you’ll have as a mother?
I hope to be empathetic so that I can be aware, understanding, compassionate and communicative with my child through all stages of her life.
What’s the other career you’d most like to try out, given a second professional life?
Perhaps more a dream than a career but I’d like to be the proprietor of a lodge that welcomes artists in residence and agro-tourism.Is there anything that quarantine forced you to change that you would like to - or will - maintain post quarantine?
My husband and I left NYC in March and have spent the last several months living in rural Vermont. I was very energized by the activity and pace of New York City and loved buzzing around visiting with friends and attending events. That will certainly be missed but the calm, peace and contentment I felt this summer truly amended my priorities. The shift in focus to family, quiet time, and nature has helped me prepare for motherhood and our new lifestyle. We just permanently relocated to Charleston, South Carolina and I really look forward to long beach walks with my husband, pup and baby girl!
What are the nicest things your partner does for you, and you for them?
My husband and I love to cook for each other - this is a true pleasure. It’s a little harder to get him to rub my feet but he’ll do it, even if not enthusiastically :)
What are the three beauty products you always have in your rotation? We always love to know someone's go-to lipstick color too…
LINNÉ is pregnancy safe and it’s kept my skin clear and radiant all pregnancy. I like to start my day by splashing my face with cool water, then following with RENEW serum and BALANCE face oil. In the evening I wash my face with PURIFY face wash, then treat myself to a lymphatic face massage using RENEW face serum and REPAIR face oil. As per lip color my go to is our NOURISH lip balm in the color ATACAMA. It’s a universally flattering nude with a touch of SPF that feels so luscious and protective.
Where is the place where you feel like your best self - your happy place?
Anywhere in nature, especially the mountains and ocean. How important is routine to you? What parts of your routine are sacrosanct?
I’m pretty go with the flow about most things but I cannot start my day without a snuggle session with my husband and dog. Once up, the first thing I do is clean my tongue with a copper scraper. What follows may be quotidian but nothing is absolute.
What are your professional goals and how do you go about achieving them?
My goal is to continue to empower women [and all consumers] by making products that help them feel confident and calm while supporting their health and that of the planet. We go about this by championing education, transparency and superlative craftsmanship.
What are the things that make your home personal to you and your family?
Our home is always abundant with house plants, cut flowers and farmers market produce - the more plant life the better!
How important is community to you, and how do you go about building and nurturing it for your family?
Community is everything. I have really missed being with my family and friends. Zoom and facetime just don’t compare to time spent in person but I still appreciate these technologies. I am also grateful to the LINNÉ community. Even as we isolated ourselves physically in Vermont I felt increasingly connected to our amazing customers and brand partners who have helped us provide more than just product, through their thoughtful story-telling, education and engagement. I really look forward to making new friends down here in Charleston. My husband and I have been amazed by the true hospitality and generosity of the folks down here. I look forward to raising my daughter in a community that is so welcoming and family-oriented.
What maternity style or clothing item could you not find this time around that you most wish FH would create?
I lived in jumpsuits throughout this pregnancy and would love to see FH make one in her signature knit or a crisp, heavy cotton.Shop Jenna's Look: Ribbed Knit Maxi Dress
