Founder and CEO, Enlisst
Your work is done - how do you spend your “me” time, when you get it?
When the day is finally done, I love to unwind with a warm Epsom bath. While the tub fills up, I dry brush my entire body, really getting in there, light up Diptyque's Feu De Bois candle, and turn on Daniel Caesar to change the energy. Once I'm in the tub, I focus on mediating, my breath, and let my to-do list fade away.
What is the thing you bought in the last three months that you have most enjoyed?
An ice machine, it's a game-changer!
What is the quality you’re most hopeful you’ll have as a mother?
Unconditional love, patience, and empathy.
What’s the other career you’d most like to try out, given a second professional life?
Being a travel editor and photographer. Nothing sounds cooler than having your job be traveling the world and sharing those mind-expansive experiences. I feel so alive and inspired when I'm in a new city or continent and get to learn about other cultures first-hand.
Is there anything that quarantine forced you to change that you would like to - or will - maintain post quarantine?
The quarantine has forced me to be incredibly present. I'm usually a go-go-go type of person, running around, taking meetings, going back and forth to NY and LA, and filling up my calendar with all things. This time period has made me slow down for the better and given me a deeper appreciation for all the little joys in life. This mindful state is something I hope to maintain post-quarantine.
What are the nicest things your partner does for you, and you for them?
It's all about the thoughtful, small sweet touches such as writing each other little love notes on post-its and sprinkling them in unexpected places.
How important is routine to you? What parts of your routine are sacrosanct?
I love a good routine, especially when it comes to exercise, health and wellness. Moving my body regularly has been crucial in keeping my energy up and feeling really good throughout my pregnancy. Whether it's training with Allyson Gottfried, doing prenatal yoga with Patti Quintero of Uma Mother, swimming, or just getting 10K steps in a day - it has all helped me feel balanced inside and out.
What are your professional goals and how do you go about achieving them?
Enlisst, the strategic social media consultancy I started a couple years ago, is my number one focus. My goal is to continue to work with brands and businesses, whose mission I truly believe in and give them the tools and framework to succeed in the space. Social can be a distracting medium with endless places to invest your energy, it's all about prioritizing based on your business goals and I'm passionate about helping people define that in an actionable and authentic way.
What are the things that make your home personal to you and your family?
Food! It is our love language and one of our favorite ways to express ourselves. From cooking a big meal to putting together a spread of delicious bites - breaking bread and sharing stories with the ones we love fills our home with joy.
How important is community to you, and how do you go about building and nurturing it for your family?
Community is incredibly important to me and our friends are an extension of our family. The concept that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with is something that resonates, so I'm really thoughtful about the relationships I invest in and people we surround ourselves (and future child!) with!
What maternity style or clothing item could you not find this time around that you most wish FH would create?
A chic jumpsuit!
