The kids are down, your work is done - how do you spend your “me” time, when you get it?
When I get some me time, I love to either take a long bath or watch a great series or movie. I also love to cook adult’s only meals for me and my husband. It sounds so simple, but it’s really such a luxury these days.
What is the thing you bought in the last three months that you have most enjoyed?
My pregnancy pillow is an absolute game changer! Getting quality sleep is a really important part of my wellness routine and it can be so difficult as a mother and pregnant woman.
What is the quality you most like in yourself as a mother?
I am a really patient and nurturing mother. It has been wonderful to become a mom and allow these qualities that I’ve always had come out in their full force.
What’s the quality you most like in one or all of your children that they did not inherit from you?
My son is hilarious. He loves making people laugh and smile. This is a quality that he gets from my husband.
What’s the other career you’d most like to try out, given a second professional life?
If I were to go back and restart my career, I would probably become a psychologist. I find that when I work with clients to improve their physical health, we always end up focusing on mindset and mental health. It’s really all connected.
Is there anything that quarantine forced you to change that you would like to - or will - maintain post quarantine?
Being in quarantine forced us to eat in more and it made me remember how nice it is to cook and spend quality time with my family at home. I think we’ll continue to enjoy our meals at home post-COVID.
What are the nicest things your partner does for you, and you for them?
My husband goes out of his way to make my life easy and has just always been really supportive of me. He is my biggest cheerleader! I tend to show love through nurture and cooking.
How important is routine to you? What parts of your routine are sacrosanct?
Routine is everything to me. Having a routine gives me a sense of peace and stability, especially right now as everything else holds so much uncertainty. My sacrosanct practices are my daily workouts, my morning skincare routine and bedtime with my son.
What are your professional goals and how do you go about achieving them?
I truly love helping people create a positive relationship with food and their body. I want to keep growing my brand so I can help as many people as possible.
What are the things that make your home personal to you and your family?
I love creating a warm environment in my home with lots of pictures, plants & cozy blankets.
How important is community to you, and how do you go about building and nurturing it for your family?
Community has always been important to me, and it is even more so now that I’m a mother. Building a community is about being open to new people and things and making yourself vulnerable so others have space to relate to you. Nurturing a community in my family means creating safe and loving routines and boundaries as well as having discussions and giving back.
What maternity style or clothing item could you not find this time around that you most wish FH would create?
I love maternity pieces that make pregnant women feel and look good. Finding a way to mix comfort with fashion is my go-to style.
